The Ministry of Digital Affairs held the 2024 Metal Forming Industry AI Exchange and Matchmaking Conference (DEMO DAY) at the GIS Taichung Xinwuri Convention Center on the December 3. Lin Yi-Jing, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, said that competition in the global technology industry is becoming increasingly fierce, and countries are facing the transformation challenges of current technological innovation and industrial development. If Taiwan wants to continue to lead in this wave of competition, it must rely on the innovation and market driving force driven by private free market competition. AI software companies not only need to improve product competitiveness and the depth of technology application to solve practical problems in the metal forming industry, but also need to master marketing strategies and further expand into the international market by building a complete ecosystem.
The event also invited eight AI information services and automation technology companies to showcase their innovative applications in the form of "AI Application DEMO DAY". They analyzed through actual cases how AI can solve the pain points of the metal forming industry and provided participants with specific and practical solutions.

Among them, Kenneth Chen, chairman of A2 Automation, Inc. and founder of the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, demonstrated "A1 system and solution overview", Chairman Chen explained the six foundations of digital transformation, how to integrate existing independent systems including ERP, business intelligence and artificial intelligence applications, existing independent systems and other functions to master real-time operational information, efficiently arrange and integrate multiple systems to meet diverse business process requirements. And work with partners to develop real-time management capabilities for organizational and product carbon footprints, use A1 systems and solutions to achieve digital transformation and sustainable transformation, paving the way for smart enterprises.
Chairman Chen also invited Professor Bor-Tsun Lin, director of the Metal Product Development Technology R&D Center of the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, to demonstrate the "Application of Industry 4.0 in the Stamping Industry", demonstrating technology "Automated Design System of stamping die" and "Industry 4.0-Unmanned Stamping Production Line, expertise in stamping has been honed in a suite of advanced technologies including automatic coil replacement、automatic welding、automatic die change、finished product inspection and technology for the maintenance and replacement of dies and equipment.

The event focused on AI and the metal forming industry, invite industry, government, academia and research circles to participate in the grand event,including Lin Yi-Jing, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Digital Affairs;Chen Hui-Min, Deputy Director of Administration for Digital Industries, moda;Lin Yu-Hung, Deputy Secretary-General of the Taichung City Government and the Office of Science and Technology Policy, National Science and Technology Council etc. represent the government.
We also discussed with 37 metal forming industry companies, 17 AI information services and automation technology companies, 8 related industry associations, and many experts and professors from colleges and universities how to use AI technology to inject new impetus into the metal forming industry and accelerate the digital transformation of the industry.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs emphasized that it will continue to promote cooperation among industries through such matching mechanisms in the future, jointly explore overseas markets, and inject more international energy into Taiwan's industries.
