Taiwanese company donates software to Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City

▲Dr. Kenneth Chen, President of A2 Automation Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dam Sao Mai, Vice President of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. 


On the morning of December 28, 2023, Dr. Kenneth Chen, consultant for the Taiwan  Eastbound Alliance-Landing  America (TeaLa) and founder of the A1 Smart Factory Alliance, represented the consortium's A2 Automation Group. This includes entities such as Taiwan Yicheng Information, Vietnam America Weitu Information, and American A2 Automation, Inc.. In collaboration with the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), a software donation ceremony was conducted, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.

A2 Automation Group donated $450,000 worth of smart manufacturing system software--A1 smart system. This solution offers a comprehensive integration of various systems including ERP , APS , MES , SFC  , EIP, CRM , SCM , PLM, BI , AI , and ESG , Additionally, it features a built-in WebLCA footprint database module, designed to assist in the management and optimization of smart manufacturing processes.

This presents a remarkable opportunity for Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) to enhance its training and research capabilities in smart manufacturing technology. The university plans to utilize the donated smart systems to bolster its undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as research projects focused on smart factories, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation. Furthermore, The systems will be integrated into existing Industry 4.0 laboratories currently provided by Siemens, Mitsubishi and ABB.

In addition, considering the limited degree of digitalization of many local enterprises in Vietnam, the ERP module of A1 Smart System is ready to cooperate with Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) in the industrial and academic fields. This cooperation aims to greatly help the digital transformation of Vietnamese industries.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed individuals including , Dam Sao Mai, Vice President of the school;Mr. Bui Dinh Tien - Associate Director of Scientific Management and International Cooperation;Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam-Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering;Nguyen Vi Thamn Quoc-Associate Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering;Mr. Le Dinh Vu - Director of Business Contact and Job Employment Center;Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Minister of Investment and Planning and teachers and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering. 

The ceremony also featured President Li-Ji Liu and vice president Zhi-Xin Li of Topco Vietnam, representing both the Chairman of the Taiwan  Eastbound Alliance-Landing  America (TeaLa) and Chairman Zhi-Hui Guo of the Topco Group.

President Po-Chang Shih and Manager Nguyen Ngoc Bich from Anchor Fasteners Vietnam, members of the Smart Factory Alliance, also attended the event. Anchor Fasteners Vietnam has introduced the A1 smart system for more than ten years and has become Vietnam's main screw supplier for Honda, Yamaha, Toyota and other automobile and motorcycle industries.

Dr. Kenneth Chen expressed his delight in forging a cooperative partnership with Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH). He conveyed his hope that the donation would significantly benefit IUH's educational and research endeavors. Dr. Chen also anticipates future interactions and collaborations with IUH, aiming to further the progress of industry, academia, and research between Taiwan and Vietnam.
